LOBTEX Co. Ltd.
Achieves ISO-14001 Standard
On March 12, 1999, LOBTEX Co. Ltd., 12-8 Shijo-Cho, Higashi-Osaka 579-8053, Japan main
factory has been certified under the international enviromental standard ISO 14001.
The ISO 14001 standard involves the use of a strict
environmental management system and, like the related ISO 9001 quality standard, it
requires that an organisation monitor and continually improve its performance. The
standard encompasses all of the environmental effects of a manufacturing site, including
energy use, water treatment, waste disposal, noise and air quality.
"It's taken over two years to accompolish," said Shiro Kimura, Company President. "ISO 14000 represents the
next generation of tools needed to more effectively achieve enviromental protection goals.
It is an opportunity."
ISO 14001 certification is one step being taken under a new
Lobtex Environmental System that is designed to provide a set of environmental management
procedures.
